How to cut midis
I get allot of requests for a tutorial on how to edit midi files to reduce file size, channels etc so that you can use them as ringtones.
Here’s a list of free midi editing programs that I found online:
Anvil Studio – This seems to be the best at the moment.
Midget 3.5 – Tracker style editing, maybe more difficult to use, but also worth while.
Basically you have to open the file and if you have to reduce midi channels, you’d have to delete channels that doesn’t really affect the main song. You can also change the volume of the entire midi or selected channels only as well as change instruments. To cut the length of a song, just select and delete the parts you want gone.
