YG24 ringtones for under 24 year olds
What is YG24? Well it’s my term for the opposite of Parental Guidance (PG), named Youth Guidance and means only for under 24′s! Funny enough it was designed to repel teen troublemakers and the response has been phenominally opposite. The Wyvern Theatre in Wiltshire installed audio equipment to play the sound around their square at night to repel the troubled youths. Little did they know… The reason for this is because it is claimed that only young people can actually hear the ringtone, meaning that students and schoolgoers are using it in class because their lecturers can’t hear it!
It’s the famous mosquito ringtone only banded within the 18-20kHz range, so older people tend to not hear it.
To create your own YG24 ringtones, there are some easy ways to make them inaudible to adults. Firstly you have to get a ringtone that doesn’t have too much bass, because it’s going to get cut away anyway. Get something which already has a good general range. Now just open your equaliser in your favorite audio editing software and remove all bands around 18-24kHz, in effect just leaving those there. The reason why the mosquito ringtone works so well is because it’s a whiney sound, so you would have to select something similar.
